mrlich: (dragonbones)
Been thinking about creating a buyable sketchbook in time for the holliday gift-buying season. I don't exactly have hoards of adoring fans that are demanding such a thing, but I thought "What the hell? Why not?" I figure that the experience of setting it up alone will be worth it.

I'm not yet sure what route I will use to publish it, nor just what exactly will be in it, or even how big it will be (though I'll want to keep the price reasonable, which implies a small(er) book). For this same reason, it will be greyscale only (aside from possibly a color cover).

There's a lot ramping up right now for Nevermet Press, so I'm going to assume that my time will be pretty heavilly restricted for a bit which is why I'm thinking about this now. Both the 'I have no time, so NOW is when my mind gets most creative.' and the 'I had best think about this LONG before I would need to put it together if I want to pull it off.'  mindsets are starting to creep in.

My question for you dear friends/family: What would YOU like to see in it? I'm assuming that I will be including my personal favorite works for the last year or two, but what about you? Want more fantasy? More sci-fi? Horror? Is there something specific? A certain character from a movie that you really like? A superhero that you've always been a fan of?

I make no promises, but I can't put it in there if I don't know you want it, so speak up damn you!

Oh - and what about a name for the book? I have a couple of ideas, but I'm curious what you guys think. If I use your idea, I'll give you a free copy. :)

For those of you who where there on the 4th when we discussed whether I was a ninja, a pirate, or a robot. I present Patch - the robotic ninja pirate! (Sorry for the crappy image - I had to use my camera phone to take it.)

So you've probably all forgotten the little experiment that I started back in February.

Well I didn't. It was driving me nuts that I never did finish the portraits that I had promised. I had plenty of steam to do an hour on [livejournal.com profile] lafemmekatia's image.

I slowed down a bit and lost a bit of drive while working on [livejournal.com profile] theseitz's image of Rodney Dangerfield. I sucked it up and worked on him for a little over 1/2 hour. Poor Rodney. You've looked better buddy.

I have just finished (at long last) the image I promised for [livejournal.com profile] anisette_toast. I actually found this one coming together fairly quickly. There was a lot going on here tonight, and while I would think that should be an 'excuse' for why the image didn't turn out the way I wanted, it actually seemed to be the reverse. In just 1/2 hour (ok - maybe a touch more) I felt comfortable calling it a night.

I was thinking about doing some t-shirt designs. Mostly, I'm probably going to stick with my forte - tribal designs and the like. However, I have some pretty damn clever friends, so I thought that I would put the word out:

If any of you have an idea for a funny (or serious for that matter) shirt - let me know. If I like the idea, and I put it on a shirt, I'll (at least) buy one of the shirts for you, and you can brag to all of your friends that you came up with the idea!

Yeah, it's another image of Patch. What can I say? There's a reason why there are people out there who only know me by that name. On the plus side, as noted by [livejournal.com profile] shellefly - this one's a bit more detailed than usual. In fact, it would seem that most of my stuff lately has been more detailed, and it's no accident. I've been focusing on sticking with an image longer than I used to. This is resulting in much cleaner and nicer images.

Is Patch actually giving you the peace sign? Is he being sarcastic? Well... my money's on sarcasm, but I'll leave that up to you....
