first ssshhhtuff of 2006
I'm working on a piece of fiction that I think that I posted before. Not sure though. It's "a Patch Story" that is really just 'filler'. That is to say that it's just something to give more flava to ol' Patch through a little trick that my bud Quito pointed out a while back. I'm breaking down the short story and segmenting it into panels so that I might actually do a mini-comic. No - this isn't really for publication or anything - more just for me to be able to say that I did it.
This is the Priest - our beloved narrator.
And here's the breakdown for the first two pages:
Page 1. Interior Apartment. Narrator is sitting and drinking something (liquor). Sober mood in both colors and backdrops.
Panel 1: (Close up of hand with whiskey glass) Text Box: I see Hell in my dreams. I don’t mean in some figurative or symbolic sense, I mean it in the very real and literal way.
Panel 2: (Close up of a hand pouring whiskey – full ashtray in the foreground) Text Box: I witness the souls of men and women of every walk of life tormented endlessly. They cry out for help that will never come. They are the Lost.
Panel 3: (close up of narrator's face – a portion thereof) Text Box: I know what you’re thinking. I’m not crazy. I’m not a madman - of course, I realize that’s what a lunatic would tell you – but I’m really not.
Panel 4: (medium shot – interior of apartment – dingy bedroom) Text Box: In fact, I use these dreams to benefit mankind. I use them to motivate me. The first time I had one of these horrific nightmares, I knew that I had received my calling.
Page 2. Splash Page – Inferior shot of narrator – allowing reader to see that he's a priest – as he sips from his whiskey.
Text Box: The Lord works in mysterious ways.
Oh... and I realize that these are probably not broken down 'correctly' as I've never done it before (so I don't know the format). I just kinda figured that since the breakdown is for me (as artist) I could just leave it the way it is (unless one of you kindly folks does know the proper format...

...However, if I do in fact not renew the membership - then I need to find a new and improved means of seriously working out. I need to burn a ton of calories because I need to lose some serious weight (in the neighborhood of 60lbs).
And it has to be something really fun, that I will enjoy doing enough that I will go back to it again and again and...
Any ideas?
