So I sat down tonight to do some work on a project that I'm part of. I wanted to do some of the art-side of my responsibilities, so I thought that I would loosen up a bit with some sketching. I had an idea that I wanted to do - just to loosen up. I need to get the 'feel' back because I've been away from illustration for far too long.

I would say that the results of my 'loosen up exercise' is possibly the best sketchwork I've ever done in my life.

I'm going to keep working on it, but I'm leaving it like this for now because I'm reaching that point where I start to worry that I'll kill it by over-doing something.

I will, of course, post here when I've more progress made.

The Column...in my more 'regular stuff'. Here's an image of the Column members. I think that this new wave of 'focus' is showing - even in this sort of thing. The characters feel a little more solid. I'm actually really psyched to keep working on this one, but I need to drop back to the portraits to get more work done on them. This might sound like complaining, but I should point out that I am loving the way things 'feel' since I've been doing these little experiments, so I'm in this to see it through.

I'll be doing more experiments thanks to the results I'm seeing from these.

Yeah, it's another image of Patch. What can I say? There's a reason why there are people out there who only know me by that name. On the plus side, as noted by [livejournal.com profile] shellefly - this one's a bit more detailed than usual. In fact, it would seem that most of my stuff lately has been more detailed, and it's no accident. I've been focusing on sticking with an image longer than I used to. This is resulting in much cleaner and nicer images.

Is Patch actually giving you the peace sign? Is he being sarcastic? Well... my money's on sarcasm, but I'll leave that up to you....

Tonight...

...I went to see Ghost Rider on my own. There's some itch that gets scratched when I go to the movies on my own. It's not something I want to do all the time, but every once in a while, it does me genuine good.

I loved the movie. That's at least one more reason I'm glad I went alone.

After the movie, I got to hang out with the lovely and always talented [livejournal.com profile] shellefly did some artwork, and now I'm here.

It's been a good day.

Well kids, it's finally up - something new for 2006.

I'm working on a piece of fiction that I think that I posted before. Not sure though. It's "a Patch Story" that is really just 'filler'. That is to say that it's just something to give more flava to ol' Patch through a little trick that my bud Quito pointed out a while back. I'm breaking down the short story and segmenting it into panels so that I might actually do a mini-comic. No - this isn't really for publication or anything - more just for me to be able to say that I did it.

A rather graphic little short story from me. If you are easily offended - don't read on.

If not? Enjoy}}} )
