Great Show
Sep. 28th, 2007 02:29 amWhat a great show the gang had tonight. My fears matched Durkin's. We had been told that there were concern's over noise ordinances which started at 11pm. The band was scheduled for 11:15. :(
The venue had come up with a "solution" which consisted of putting up a large tent to dampen the noise. Then, in an attempt to further "help" with the threat of getting shut down, they insisted on keeping the god damn door to the tent closed. Yeah - I was starting to be afraid that they would be playing to an empty tent.
Turns out my fears were needless. By the end of the set, the tent was packed to the gills with the kind of rocking folks that reminded me of the Netherlands. They played our reindeer games - complete with cell phone waiving and chanting during Big Ass Truck.
After the show, the band received much love from fellow performers and drunken revelers.
What a great night. I'm very fortunate to be here with such an amazing group of people.
