In the text I would refer to yourself as either "Matt" or "the artist", don't jump back and forth. I prefer "Matt" - it's more personal and anyone looking at your website already knows Matt = the artist.

i like the examples of work so that people can see what you've done before for each category, perhaps do a sample for the final 2 categories so that there's something for each...

I do still try to keep graphics 'reasonably sized'. I try not to assume that just because I'm lucky enough to have a reasonably fast connection...
