I love the fact that there are all these super hero movies flowing like water from Hollywood. Spidey is coming to life in all new ways. Bats has got his dark ass back in the big screen. And now? Superman and good ol' Ghost Rider are on their respective ways.
For those of you who have a Kevin Spacey fetish (*cough*

So what's this about Ghost Rider you ask?
Here's the summary stolen from IMDB:
"This is the story of motorcycle stunt performer, Johnny Blaze (Cage), who agrees to become the host of a "spirit of vengeance" in exchange for the safety of his true love, but the price he pays is to be cursed with the avenging spirit that takes its form at night as a demon with a flaming skull on a motorcycle of hellfire... Johnny Blaze has a dark secret - he is the Ghost Rider - who can grab you and force you to re-live tenfold all the sins you have perpetuated in your life... if there are too many sins, you'll burn up and incinerate. The Ghost Rider is unstoppable as he dishes out a hellish justice on his Hell-Cycle."
Yeah. They don't tell you anything. Sony's official site? Less than that.- in fact there's only a splash page there now. Superherohype.com has some decent info, but you have to dig through a bunch of "Joe Blow snapped this random photo of people you don't know and illegally gave it to us." kinda posts.
GR isn't exactly mainstream. This is the crux of the problem. That's right bebe. I said crux. They have Nick Cage slated to play Johnny Blaze. This could be good or bad. The hellcycle looks kewl, but that's cg - and it seems like more often than not I'm thoroughly annoyed by cg these days. It's like the studios rush the artists through stuff so damn fast that it all has a "oh - look - cg special effects - I didn't see that coming or anything" feel to it.
Moral of the story? After checking out posts like this one, I'm sure that it's not hard to believe that I luuurv me some supah heroes. I lurv it even more that studios are finding it profitable to put them on the big screen. I just hope that this isn't a made rush to jump on some kind of hero bandwagon, and they botch a character that so fits... well... me. I like the idea behind GR. I like that he isn't a 'boy scout'. I like that he's not a 'dark knight'. He's Joe Blow... who made a deal with the devil because he thought it was the only option he had. And he's a hero anyway.
And oh yeah - the motorcycle that runs on hellfire doesn't hurt either. ;)
