The Holiday Weekend in Review...

Saturday: I spent most of the day on Saturday stressing needlessly. I kept waiting for my pager to go off since I was on call. I ran around like a madman with my family doing virtually all of my Christmas presents. Managed to get just about everything I needed to get and then went home.
And proceeded to pass out.
Not sure what the deal was, but I just simply could not keep my eyes open. I woke up at 3am and wrapped all my presents for the next day. Err... that day. Oh hell- you get the point.
Sunday: Christmas day was an absolute blast. It was the first time in my life that I had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas twice and Hanukka once. My family and I got a later-than-normal start, and that pushed things back a little, but nothing too extravagant. After my family and I did the whole 'unwrap presents and spend some quality time together' (including my brothers playing pranks on each other with a Chippendales calendar) I headed to NJ to join the lovely

In the wee hours of the morning, we headed back to Deleware to recover.
Until I got that phone call.
Monday: I received two separate phone calls from my youngest brother prior to 9am. At first I figured he was just excited about something he got from his girlfriend for Christmas and was dying to tell me about it. Which, of course, made me want to kill him. (Not really - he's cool beyond words, but it was before 9 frickin o'clock!!!)
Now I'll start by saying that he's alright - he'll be fine eventually - but my father had been in an accident. Nothing too traumatic, and the damage was minimal (strained/bruised muscles in his back) but we didn't really know that at the time. He had gone over the edge of the driveway, and since we live on the side of a mountain... well... that's bad. He came to an abrupt halt when he hit a tree.
As a side note - it often amuses me when I see things like this - not loved ones in an accident, but rather when Mother Nature says: "Oh, did you think that you could affect me? Allow me to demonstrate just how not the case that is..." Truck = large rolling metal machine - in 4x4. Meet tree. Truck stops. Dad probably said something like "Ouch." (He's kinda a tough-guy.)
Anywho - so I make a b-line for Pa, and when I get home Dad's already back from the hospital. No x-rays or anything (which seemed odd to me - but what the hell do I know?). Glad Dad's okay, but was kinda bummed because I had hoped to help

"My Dad drove his truck off a cliff, over some boulders and crashed into a tree!"
"Aaaaigh! Holy Crap! Merry Christmas!"
Still unsure why I said "Merry Christmas."
Anyhoo...
Hey, I still have a giftie for your folks. Don't let me forget!
And, if you talk to Yaissle (sp?), command her to come to Mosk's. And on Sunday we're watching The Hebrew Hammer.. Jerm has crash space, as do I.
Glad to hear your dad is on the mend. Did you guys get the truck moved?
