To my techno-buds: do any of you know anything about silicon graphics machines? Edit: I think that I'm good. I was wondering a bit about the details of such systems, but a little googling is all it took to figure that out. I'll post if I do anything fun with it. :)
Actually, I think that I'm good for now. I picked one up (ancient) 'as is' and I wasn't sure what I had. I did a little googling and I feel pretty sure that I have a really big paperweight. ;)
S'okay though, because I plan to have some fun just monkeying around with it.
they were really nice machines back in the day. chances are it's not a total paperweight, even if it's an older one.
I used to use one occasionally. I seem to remember Irix compiling a little funny. never did any graphics work on one, which was what they were really designed for, I think.
I thought so as well, and that's why I grabbed it. Paid a whopping $10 for it, so even if it is nothing more than a paperweight, I can live with that. :}
