Well... here's the latest:

Mark managed to sell my motorcycle - and for the money we wanted to ask! It's great to feel at least that sense of relief, and with my new job being just this side of assured, I am feeling a good deal more comfortable about my debt situation. At least where the debt to friends is concerned. I still reaaaaaaally need to work on my school debt, but at the very least, my friends will be taken care of shortly.

Which, brings up the new job. I'm anticipating a lot here. I am going to be spending about a month in NY learning the maintenance aspect of the coffee machines. A month. What a huge step up from a 3 hour course on gate operators that is! The money sounds great, and the fact that there's company paid benefits? Well, I'm ecstatic. The only down side that I can see is the dullness. I don't anticipate the delivery of coffee being a high-paced and action packed kind of position. I do, however, really look forward to meeting all the folks at all the different places where I will be delivering to. It just seems like a good thing for me.

Of course, I noted the irony of the whole thing. I have been going to the HamFam for how many years now, drinking how many tons of coffee? And now? Now I will be delivering it. Not to the HamFam, mind you - I will have a different route. It will be the same coffee though. And I will probably (over time) deliver to the HamFam at some point.

I was pleased to hear that (after I have a little experience) the company gives a percentage to those employees who go out and sell the product. There's a bonus program. There's profit sharing (of sorts). It just sounds like all the perks of a corporate business, without the "you're not a name - you're a number" scenario.

All this, and I should be able to keep going with my landscaping etc. side work while I am doing the whole thing. Which is going wonderfully. I received a great compliment from one of my customers the other day and it still has me riding a little high. I like the work, I like that I set my own pace, and I like that I am my own boss. (Which seems like another benefit to the coffee delivery, btw- I think that I will be responsible for me a vast majority of the time...)

The next few weeks should prove interesting.

I'm looking forward to it.

A lot.
