Dear friends and family,

On Saturday, July 28th, I'll be writing, filming, and editing a movie
in 24 hours.

"Wow! That's pretty nutty! Why are you doing it?"

To raise money for a great cause! It's just like a charity telethon,
only different. We're making our movie as a charity fundraiser for
Doctors Without Borders.

"How is this going to work, exactly?"

Together with a group of friends, I'm making a movie in 24 hours as
part of Blogathon 2007. Every half-hour, we'll blog about our progress
and share pictures of our Hollywood goings-on. When our 24 hours are
up, our finished movie goes up on YouTube!

"When is this happening?"

Starting 9am Saturday, July 28th, and ending 9am Sunday, July 29th.

"Where is this happening?"

We will be blogging about it (writing about it online) at this web site:

http://boutell.livejournal.com/

Tom Boutell is our executive producer. Until July 28th, that's his
personal blog. But on July 28th, it will be the place to check in
every half-hour to find out how the filmmaking is going.

"Why is this happening?"

We're doing it in support of Doctors Without Borders. For those who
don't already know, Doctors Without Borders (Medicins Sans Frontieres)
provides medical care in the most desperate and war-torn parts of the
world. They are the good guys, to the nth power.

"So you want me to pledge a donation to Doctors Without Borders?"

Yup! If you're in a hurry, just click this link and make your pledge
(but see below to find out about a cool opportunity to put your words
in our mouths):

Want to know more? Keep reading!

"What will the movie be about?"

That's up to you! We are accepting lines of dialogue from those who
pledge. Read on for details...

"When I pledge money to NPR I get a tote bag. Do you guys give out tote bags?"

Better! When you pledge, you get to give us a line of dialogue to
include in our movie!

We are accepting lines of dialogue from anyone who pledges a donation
of at least $25 on the blogathon site. We are accepting dialogue until
Friday, July 27th. If we are concerned that your line of dialogue
simply can't work, we will do our best to contact you for another
suggestion.

Send your line of dialogue to tommybgoode@gmail.com (Tom is our
executive producer). Of course, if you want to pledge without
suggesting a line of dialogue, that is A-OK too.

"You're making the entire movie in 24 hours?"

Yes, we are. We're nuts that way.

"How long will the movie be?"

YouTube has a ten-minute limit and so do we. The movie will be at
least five minutes long.

"So the movie will be on YouTube at 9am Sunday, July 29th?"

We can't be responsible for the potential flakiness of YouTube on that
particular morning. But our movie will be "in the can" and ready to
upload at 9am Sunday, and available on YouTube as soon as possible
thereafter.

"What happens if I pledge and you don't make the movie?"

We will make the movie! But if an asteroid smooshes us and we can't,
you will not have to make your charitable donation. Unless, of course,
you still want to.

"Sounds completely awesome. I want to see you crazy kids make a movie,
and I want to support Doctors Without Borders. How do I pledge?"

Sponsor us through the Blogathon site! Blogathon will keep track of
our pledges and make sure that you make your actual donation after we
successfully complete the event. When you make your actual donation
later, you will be donating DIRECTLY to the charity - ONE HUNDRED
PERCENT will go straight to Doctors Without Borders. Blogathon just
keeps track of pledges.

Ready? Please click on this link to sponsor us:
