Ok - time for my year in review. (Past time, actually, but I've been a busy boy.)
We'll start with what I didn't do - at least didn't do enough of:
Misc Art
1.)
2.)
3.)
4.)

Other Art:

Wow. An image per month is really what that looks like to me. I really need to do a lot more this year. Sure, I did NaNoWriMo (still working on finishing that) and Burning Man and tours with the IJG, so I feel like I did a whole lot more artistically, but this year? I'm going to do more art.
In addition to these images, I have some video of some of the sketchwork done for all of the above. I'll be adding that to this post soon.
We'll start with what I didn't do - at least didn't do enough of:
- I never touched my Comicspace page. In the future, I really should use that site more. I think that I have some more 1100 strips brewing in me, and I need to just get them onto the virtual page.
- In truth? Art. Period. I found (as always) art was a sort of pendulum for me this year. I need to buckle in and do more art when I "don't feel like it" or "don't have time" or any of the many other excuses that I tend to make over and over again.
Misc Art
1.)

- There was a children's book project that kinda fell apart in the Nth hour. The good news is that it's an annual thing and next year I know what to do differently.
- Nightgirl was a commission done for anotherjen's daughter. This one has a watermark on it because I want her to have the only 'clean' copy.
- My brother is contributing some of his thoughts on Servant Leadership to a soon to be published book and he asked me to do a quick illustration pointing out some of the ideals of the management style.
- And lastly a quick 20 minute sketch. This one may be NSFW depending on your place of employment. :)

- I did a lot of fan art. This seems a popular thing to do these days. I think that most folks are doing it for marketing reasons more often than not, and I can't really blame them. I have to figure that people are going to do a whole lot more searching for an X-Man like Nightcrawler than they are for Patch. I did the (very rough) sketch of Death as a tribute to Neil Gaiman's storytelling prowess.
- I also did some No Pink Ponies fan art.
- Next was some "Little Warrior" sketchwork which I attributed to my waiting for Grant Gould's Wolves of Odin to be released.
- The vampire is a birthday fan art for
mugmoni .
Other Art:

- Then there was the new Dragonbones.net crest. I like the idea of doing custom crests for people still, but I don't know that I have the kind of time it would take to do some 'samples' for free as I had originally posted. We'll see.
- I did a quick study of the differences between human eyes and wolf eyes.
- The lobster thing? That's what happens when you get in touch with old friends and start talking random ideas.
- Next we have the Stages of Me meme - really liked both the idea and how my contribution turned out.
- The werewolf and...
- Frankenstein's Monster were for Halloween.
- Next was the linework for an Aarokocra which will be the first page of my 'fantasy alphabet book' (should I ever return to that little project)
- And lastly we have my holiday e-card

Date: 2009-01-05 04:08 am (UTC)As to Nightgirl in particular, I actually left her out on purpose originally. As it was a commissioned piece that was done digitally, I wanted you guys to have the only 'finished copy' of the work. I think though, after thinking about it a bit more, I'll post an unfinished version or one with a watermark.
