I generally think it's some sort of ironic meta commentary, like when someone repeats a thing deadpan in a comedy sketch in voice over.

Unless it's for deadpan comedy purposes, it's just a muddled communication, like repeating yourself unnecessarily. I've always held that comics are a visual media with a literary component. Words should never be too prevalent. Half of the story should be what is seen, the other part what is said or described.

Everytime I've seen this done, it was for comedic effect. In that usage, it's almost become a cliche.

"Huh, I must have been mis-assuming that the narrator and the main character are the same. Cool! What's the creator going to do with this? Must keep reading!"

All right, all right. There'd be enough confusion with that to make me change it. :)

Honestly - I wasn't sure which way it would go. Besides - you shouldn't feel bad - we're trying different stuff. I just wanted to remove some pitfalls beforehand if possible. :)

Besides - this helps to clear out the bugs before you get crackin on the 'real deal'. :)
