happily fallingHeya kids. Just wanted to let everyone know that I changed my userid here. I've always thought that 'mrl24' was... well... dull. I came up with the userid of mrlich not terribly long ago, and I think that it fits for a number of reasons, so I've been using it on other sites etc. In an effort to get all of my various worlds to jive, I figured it was time to change it here as well.

You don't have to worry if you've linked to me in a post of your own - LJ updates the links to show my new userid automagically. :)

Oh - and just for fun - the image is the (extremely rough) sketch I did of an idea that came to me in something of a daydream on my way home from work tonight.

I see a stupefyingly medicated individual completely oblivious to the fact that he's been tossed out of a plane, is falling through a massive acid cloud, and will be a reduced to a energetic splash of steaming goo by the time he hits the ground. I mean look at him, his unit's already melted away!

I'm not saying your daydreams are fucked up and wrong. But... dood.

I totally thought I commented on this post to tell you how much I like that drawing.

There's a play by David Ives called The Universal Language that has these nonsense words written on the walls of a room where they're teaching a language that is no real language but to a native English speaker it sounds like a lot of different stereotypes about language mixed together. For example, the word for "english" is "johncleese." The nonsense words on the walls seem to be "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight." At the end of the play you find out they are "when you free fall, find if heaven waits," a quote attributed to Geronimo.
