Google Chat - Now Calling All Phones

Hey gang. Just wanted to jot a quick note to let everyone know that I have now tested a new feature of Google Chat - the ability to call land lines / cell phones within the US for free. It worked great, I was able to work on my laptop while talking (as we reviewed websites etc) and generally was really thrilled with the service.

I highly recommend checking it out.

I recently got a Google Voice phone number, and I love it. There was a period of time recently when I had to call someone in Japan, and another person in Spain nearly constantly. I managed to spend only a dollar for 50 minutes!

Nice! I'm a big fan of a lot of the Google products, and as the voice to text capabilities are improving in Voice, I'm really digging the 'voice mail to text' feature. Also? This new feature in gChat will use your existing Voice number for the caller id number. Ahh Google. How delightfully slick you are.

I adore the voice mail transcription feature, too. It is still rough around the edges, especially when the caller is in transit, but it does a good job of conveying the essentials.

OK, the comedy of the day...

I meant to post that "can't stop looking at your icon" bit to mrlich but accidentally responded to tfcocs.

But really, she doesn't have a bad-lookin' icon either. :-)
