This has been a very good weekend - here's the sin-opsis:
Friday night: I did some riding during the day (gorgeous day for riding). Wrapped up the day hanging with my friend Neener and
kar0na and
metikulos. A few drinks, some good laughs. Great way to end a good day.
Saturday: Woke late. I stuck around the house a bit to see if my family could use my help with the newest house project- hardwood floors. When I saw, however, that there were already three grown men working in the entryway alone, I stayed right the hell out of the way. Late morning I jumped on the bike and went to catch up with the Gas Man and his wife - they were at the tail end of a breast cancer benefit poker run. We went to Nick's Diner for some coffee after checking out all the bikes. They're not one of my customers, and I have to say - you can tell. After the diner we hit Chris and Renee's place to let the dog out and the poor fools got me talking about The M and M Roadtrip -2002. Several hours later, when I paused to breathe, my buddy Wes called and said he was getting into town (from Pittsburg). We spent some time hanging out at my place and grabbed a bite to eat before stopping to see
kar0na and
metikulos on our way out of town. They had been gone all day celebrating
kar0na's birthday in Baltimore. (Everyone should take a moment to go wish her a happy birthday dammit!) We headed south to
shellefly's shindig - which, for the record, was an absolute blast. After meeting just tons of uber cool and sexy people we headed back to Quito's place to sack out for the night.
Sunday: Woke all too early. Wes had plans and so did I, but that didn't mean that good ol' Jack Daniel's was about to let me be all that functional early in the morning. At any rate, we headed back to the Lehigh Valley and we got to do some more chatting - which is fabulous since I don't get to do that nearly enough with Wes. Silly "I'm buying a house in Pittsburg" types. Got a call from Gas and Renee and we all headed to Oley for the Reading Motorcycle Club's drag races. It was my first time to the drags and it was a lot of fun. I'm here to tell you that it takes a special kind of insanity to do what those guys do. One of the guys went down hard and was pushed into the chain link fence by his bike and had to be medivaced out to the hospital. Thanks but no thanks. I'll stick to the streets and do things the way I like - nice and slow. Afterward we did a little more riding and wound up back at my place which was perfect because Chris had some stuff he wanted to talk to my Pop about.
Now, here I am sharing it all with you good folks.
A very good weekend indeed. And despite my recent post I still have managed to not get into any trouble.
Yet.
