So I was thinking about doing some caricature work to polish those skills. I've never been really good at it, and with the popularity of the ToonMe images I've been doing, I thought it might be time to fix that.

So I Googled "Celebrity" because I wanted a pseudo random selection of famous faces to pick from to get started.

I looked through the results and finally found a link to People magazine about half way down the front page. I assumed everything before that (which I didn't recognize) was a bunch of garbage sites.

So I went to People and looked at their 'celebrity' page. I thought that should cover it.

I didn't recognize a single celebrity until about 3/4 of the way down the page.

My first thought was "Jesus, I'm really out of touch."

My second thought was "I'm just fine with that."

Rodneyhere's the latest work on the portraits...

I've done stage 1 (the first half hour) on [profile] theseitz's portrait of Rodney Dangerfield.

So far so good. Ol' Rodney sure had an easily recognizable face. My Dad would likely say "He's a living caricature." - and he'll be right. Those eyes make it hard to not just 'cheat' by focusing on them and leaving it alone. That, however, is not the point of the experiment. The idea is to create a decent portrait in 2 hours. Not simply to make the person recognizable.

At any rate - as always, I would love to get everyones' thoughts.

Oh, and don't forget about my survey!
