I just have a few seconds to post a quick update:

Yesterday the band did two shows - both of which kicked large amounts of Dutch ass.

The first show was a street level venue which had this great 'festival' feel. People gathered on the street and danced while the band played. Children played down in the front (and bumped me while I tried like hell to video - don't worry - there was no small person death). People would 'continue to sing' the songs after they were over. And lastly? Some folks bum-rushed the stage when the set was done. Cds sold, people talked of life changes, and general pleasure was expressed - fiercely.

The second venue was more of a 'stage show'. It on was an enclosed stage which as larger that the first, with a dj on either side (one for sounding out the band and one for spinning records between bands). There's such a regal feel to this crew when you here them belting it out. I don't mean in some stuffy or obnoxious way - it's just...

... it's just damn good.

The crew more or less filled the open air 'audience space' which was a large courtyard between storefronts which stood on either side of the large stage. Hearing the people going nuts around me and dancing and just clearly feeling the music was an amazing experience that I wish I could bottle and give to each of the band members.

I've been taking a butt-pile of pictures and video which I will share when I get back and have more time.

The group just did their sound check for tonight, and I'm waiting with baited breath for the show. This is going to be 'experience of a lifetime' kind of stuff.

Doing some homework for our upcoming trip to the Netherlands, and I am once again amazed by how much wikipedia rules.

Before any of you say it - yes, I realize that wikipedia is not to be taken as gospel truth, but then I don't take the gospel as truth, so I guess I'm good there.
