Have any of you tried Flock yet? It's built on Firefox, which gives it a good starting block in my mind, but I don't really want to download and install something that's for social networking until I find out for sure if the rest of the features function at least as well as standard Firefox stuff.
Dear LazyWeb...
Sep. 14th, 2007 05:36 pmI'm looking for reviews and information on a couple different things and I'm just wondering where the other tech savvy people in my life go for such things. I know that
boutell was using consumer reports - which is arguably one of the best, but I'm cheap and was looking to do this for free. Any recommendations?
The items I'm looking for are:
Antivirus software (other than Norton or McAffee - since they both consume entirely too many resources for me to be happy about using them...
...and a tablet PC. I'm just shopping at this point and I know that there's a whole new architecture on it's way in the spring, so I'm not soopah likely to buy right now, but I thought that I should learn a little more about what's out there - and you just never know.

How to Write an Illustrator/Artist Bio
Jun. 26th, 2007 11:56 pmSo during 'Creativity Night' with
xtingu and
shellefly the topic of bios came up. I hate writing them, and have had to write a number of them for the different websites that I'm on. I'm really awful at writing about myself for promotional purposes and I need to do it for both myself and for some others.
I've done the obvious Google searches, but I just thought that I would turn this little dilemma out to you oh wizards of teh intarwebs. Do any of you know of a place with a good bit on writing artist related bios?

Value of My Blog
Jun. 15th, 2007 08:43 pmI never would have put the number this high, and I'm not too sure about the method that they use to get their numbers, but it was fun anyway.
It has nothing to do with the fact that it made me feel like someone's paying attention. Nothing at all...

employers and Craigslist...
Jun. 1st, 2007 10:47 pmOkay, so am I the only one who's noticed that there are a ridiculous amount of job offers on Craigslist which sound like they're written by 10-year-olds?
I grant that a number of them may be fakes by spammers. I grant that even more are pseudo fakes by people who are trying to sound more impressive than they actually are. However - some there just doesn't seem to be any logical reason for.
An example.
I mean - are they half of what they claim? If so, don't they think that someone who has the very skill set they claim they are looking for would be turned off by working with an employer who would let someone post such a poorly written ad?
If this is spam (I haven't visited the site, and don't plan to) what do they hope to accomplish? If they're offering a service or a product, by the time I get there I'll be so annoyed that I've been duped that I would never buy said product or service. Of course, I've always had that curiosity about spam.
The gods only know that I am not the most grammatically correct individual, and sometimes my spelling just flat out sucks. But you know what? I'm not the public face of our company as we hunt for new recruits.
Anyway, I suppose that's enough preaching for now. I'm off to hang with a pretty girl.
